Embroidery
Go to the next level with thread.
Using a needle and thread, embroidery is a high touch service that produces a stitched and sewn look perfect for hats, jackets, bags, and polos.
A Few Types of Embroidery
-
Standard Embroidery
This is the most common type of embroidery. Keeping the threads in a even flat formation allows for higher detail with some flexibility.
-
3D Embroidery
3D or Puff embroidery takes advantage of layering your thread to create stunning effects to make your designs stand out.
-
Embroidered Patches
This is were a patch is made with a tight embroidery and then sewn or adhered to fabric via adhesives, sometimes both.
Thread Count
Unlike ink used for screen printing, embroidery requires the use of thread to sew the image to a garment or product. “Thread count” is a term used to describe the level of detail and complexity in an image when using thread. The higher the detail and larger the size of the image, the more thread needed to reproduce the image. Small simple logos on a polo tend to have a lower thread count under 5000 stitches, while larger or more complex prints on a bag or jacket can range over 10,000 stitches.
Digitizing Artwork
Just like screen printing, image files have to be prepped and converted for embroidery machines to understand the needle’s paths. This is not an automated process and requires a lot of skill to produce files that will sew correctly on specific materials and garment locations. A JPEG or PNG image cannot simply be sent to print and the files are specific for the machine that is running it. Standard sized logos or designs usually start at $25.00-35.00 to digitize and go up for larger or more complex designs.
